HIV/AIDS Youth Initiative

Violence Prevention Program:  The Violence Prevention Program addresses family violence, domestic violence, child violence and acquaintance violence (Fighting among peers).  The goal of this program is to focus on the consequences of violent behavior.  This program is aimed at decreasing the homicide rate among individuals who are 15 to 24 years of age and among African-Americans males.

The Helping Homeless Youth Live Program is an HIV/AIDS Prevention program targeting runaway and homeless youth (RHY) with a special consideration given to young, minority MSM within the target population.  The relationship between runaway and homeless youth and HIV is one that has only been given moderate consideration, and very few successful interventions have documented proven behavior change in this high risk population.  It is probably due to the lack of consistency in gaining access to this population.   However due to the outstanding work Le Penseur Youth & Family Services has provided over the years with this population we have found it to be very easy to both provide to and receive from vital information.  Because we are an open community based organization are doors are always open so that this population will have access to the world of technology.  We allow individuals use of our community computers daily and provide training if needed.
