CEO's Corner

From the CEO- Reginald Summerrise

The great need to increase Africa, Africa American and or black Leadership in our communities has risen to an all time high. As African American  leaders we must foster the development and increase the potential or aspiring professional African Americans throughout the state of Illinois and the United States. The time is now for us to reach into the principals of giving back and of sharing knowledge. By doing this we will increase the knowledge base and skill level of those involved in the redevelopment of our communities. We must design project and implement activities that are designed to develop personal, team, community and professional leadership skills that will result in the improvement of the quality of life for African Americans in the State of Illinois.

As we look toward the future of African Americans there is no time more important then now. There are major areas of concern which all African American Leaders should be addressing and have as top priorities in their day- to-day responsibility. Which include but are not limited to public policy, evaluation, research, human services, public health and environment, social justice and technology information systems.

As African American Leaders we can develop opportunities and redefine leadership for African American communities in Illinois. We must implement  the African-centered perspective while engaging present social academic (education), corporate, government, spiritual, civic and community leaders. We must also ask these leaders to mentor and assist future generations of leaders. I want to play a major part in improving my community. It is part  of my responsibility as an African American leader to develop a 21st century generation of leaders.

Is it yours?
